Doggy Tips
If you make a big fuss over your dog when you leave home or return, you're encouraging her to view your departures as a really, really big deal. Keep things brief and casual, and she'll be a lot happier for it.
Before you hush your barking dog, look for what he's barking at. Your dog is telling you something is not quite right. Show that you do listen and appreciate his efforts. Only "hush" him after you explore his alert.
